The website Designs By BK is now being built from the ground up.

This website will primarily include my online portfolio for designing services because I'm working part time as designer for the web, logos, icons, illustrations, etc. You may also check my deviantart page to grab some cool stuff particularly about designs. And who knows, if you ask me kind enough, I might make a free graphics for you.

I'll be posting more if my site is finished. Keep in touch.

Thanks for stopping by and reading this, it means a lot to me.

PSP Custom Firmware

Dark-alex, M33, and others are well known in PSP's custom firmware (CFW) history. It has helped a lot of fanatics and players - or did it? As far as gamers are concerned, the answer will be a whopping YES! Without it, they will not be able to play downloaded ISO or CSO files from the internet and will have to buy UMDs or purchase games from the store. Moreover, homebrew developers will not be able to share their great pieces of softwares and plugins to the community. Indeed it has helped in way.

Doing the CFW is a pain in the ass. It involves cracking open a PSP (physically for the "Pandora battery"), and internally for the codes. Dark-alex and the M33 team has done a great job in replicating the original firmware done by Sony. They have reached CFW 5.00 M33-4 (as of this writing).

But, unfortunately, we will see a downfall somewhere...especially in the side of the developers. It has quite hurt them to have someone just upload their developed game - which may take a year to do - and have millions of gamers use them for free. This in turn can turn down several game developers and we'll not have good games to play anymore. Even if PSX games can be played in the PSP console, it is better to have new games - better and more fascinating games - played in the PSP. If games will continue to be uploaded freely, there is a big chance that no one will do great games anymore.

Sony, PSP's developer, has done a good strategy for their latest PSP-3000 series --- aside from the better LCD display, to the embedded microphone, and some other enhancements --- it cannot be cracked anymore (as of this writing), but Dark-alex and the M33 team is now on the process of cracking it though. Hopefully, we'll see more of the mind-bending and eye-pleasing games by the great developers.
